Why Vans’ New ComfyCush Range Is Worth Investing In
I have a confession: I’ve been obsessed with sneakers for the past couple of years – Especially Vans. People at the office would agree that I’m a Vans addict (proudly so). Whether it’s an Old Skool, Authentic or SK8-Hi – the waffle-soled kicks has formed a great part of my daily rotation. So when I found out about Vans’ new ComfyCush collection and how they’re focusing on adding more comfort to their iconic silhouettes, I simply had to try it out.
I got a pair of ComfyCush Eras and, before even putting them on my feet, I immediately felt the difference in weight. They’re so light that I questioned whether there was anything in the box. Looking at the sneaker, it stays true to the classic silhouette with not many visible differences – which I appreciate. This showcases Vans’ intention to keep comfort as the goal without making changes to the Classic Core design.
Inside the shoe, there are teal-coloured tongue tie-downs which adds a more snug fit. There’s also added arch support which makes a big difference to the feel of the shoe. The outsole still has the waffle pattern with a slight twist. Instead of being solid vulcanized rubber, the new layered design makes the sneaker so much lighter.
The most important aspect is the new ComfyCush sole which has more cushion than the classic range and adds a softer feel to the shoe. A lot of Vans lovers will have some complaints about the ankle collar rubbing on their heels, but the ComfyCush range solves that by adding cushion to the ankle collar as well as the insole.
Overall, I’m a big fan of this new innovation by Vans. I like how they implemented this new technology without sacrificing the iconic designs that I know and love. I also think the added comfort is worth investing in. The new ComfyCush range gives a new experience to a familiar sneaker. I recommend it to fellow Vans addicts as well as those who have yet to wear the brand.
