Happy Marriage Equals Happy Sleep
If you’re frustrated because you and your partner don’t fall asleep and wake up at the same time, it may be best to look at your relationships overall happiness, according to a new study.
The study found that married couples are more likely to “sleep in synch,” according to the report, when they the wife is happier with their relationship.
The study, published in the online supplement of the journal Sleep, found that 75% of the time couples are awake and asleep at the same time. In other words they ‘sleep in synch’ 75% of the time. However when the wife was happier with the marriage, the ‘sleeping in synch’ percentage went up.
The study group consisted of 46 couples who completed relationship assessments.
“This suggests that our sleep patterns are regulated not only by when we sleep, but also by with whom we sleep,” said lead author Heather Gunn.
