Man Vs Nature: Cool Movies To Rent
INTO THE WILD This is the true story of a young man who takes on nature, armed only with his own ill-placed sense of idealism. We’re not going to spoil the ending, but you just know it’s not going to end well.
GRIZZLY MAN Like Into the Wild, just with bears, this documentary follows bear lover Timothy Treadwell through his last few years living with wild grizzlies.
WITHOUT A PADDLE Coming with all the terrible jokes and crater-filled plot you’d expect from a film of this nature, Without a Paddle is silly, funny and – unlike most of the other stuff on this list – harmless.
CAST AWAY Tom Hanks gets stranded on an island for four years (or two and a half hours of your time) with nothing but a large beard and shameless product placement to keep him company. Strangely, though, the result is a compelling movie.
TOUCHING THE VOID A documentary of two climbers’ ill-fated attempt to climb the enormous Siula Grande mountain in the South American Andes, Touching the Void takes you as close as you’ll ever want to get to high altitude, frostbitten disaster.
