The Men’s Health team have been working hard during lockdown to keep you fit and entertained. And that’s why we’ve teamed up with PUBG Mobile and their game PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds Mobile to give you a gaming experience like no other.

For the first time, MH together with PUBGM will bring you a battle royale with daily prizes to be won. And the best part? You don’t need an expensive gaming console, only your smartphone and internet.

What It’s About

100 players parachute onto a remote 8×8 km island for a winner-takes-all lockdown showdown. Players have to locate and scavenge their own weapons, vehicles and supplies, and defeat every player in a graphically and tactically rich battleground that forces players into a shrinking play zone. Get ready to land, loot, and do whatever it takes to survive and be the last man standing!

“The game is important to audiences because it removes the barriers associated with gaming in general and allows you to connect with your friends and family wherever they are in the world,” says PUBG Mobile Africa Ricky Hendricks.

The game’s interactivity is key and ensures you aren’t alone during lockdown. “You can use the voice chat feature to chat to mates in your team during the games. It is also a way to get rid of boredom during lockdown that is highly entertaining,” he adds.

PUBG Mobile Africa encourages players to get involved during lockdown – who knows? You may even become a professional player. “We’ve brought dedicated game servers to Africa, so that we can ensure that everyone on the continent can play on a low ping and have an experience that is comparable to the rest of the world.”

How To Compete

Survive the battle with your friends daily. Teams of four will compete in the battle royale brawls on the following dates: 24, 27, 28, 29 April with the finale on Thursday, 30 April.

Our Take

The game, which launched in Africa last year, has been a worldwide phenomena and for good reason: it takes little data (we tested 30 minutes of gameplay and used just 16mb!) and brings incredible first person shooter gameplay. With PUBG Mobile having over 100 000 daily active users, from beginners to pros.

The powerful Unreal Engine 4 creates a jaw-dropping visual experience with rich detail, realistic gameplay effects and a massive HD map for Battle Royale. If you’re looking for an immersive, high-impact first-person shooting game, this one’s a no brainer. And one that left MH staffers regretting not getting their hands on it at the beginning of lockdown.

Feel like you’re in the thick of the action as you play with high-quality audio, immersive 3D sound effects and 7.1 channel surround sound.

This is one you’ll enjoy!
