3 Ways To Reach Your Power Potential With Francois van Coke’s Trainer

Batt is a former high school teacher turned fitness professional with a serious sporting CV. The co-owner of Huba Fitness, he’s been on two of our (and five international) MH covers, and every now and then you can catch him on SABC3’s Expresso Morning Show, during their fitness segment.

1. Be Realistic, Aim For Achievable

“Francois has an extremely busy schedule and he’s a family man, so making time to train takes planning and dedication,” says Batt. “We include cardio, interval training, bodyweight exercises, old-school strength training, lower-intensity steady-pace training and boxing – all achievable and sustainable.”

2. Where There’s A Will, There’s A Workout

Van Coke spends 40% of his life away from home and his regular fitness hangout, yet still manages to fit in workouts. “It’s possible, but it’s hard,” he notes. “Francois runs and does bodyweight training at his hotel, adapted according to what gym equipment may be available,” says Batt.

3. Time Is A Factor, Not An Excuse

Everyone’s busy. But if you want it badly enough, you’ll make the time, you need a lot less than you think. “You don’t need to spend hours on training. Smash out 30 to 45-minute workouts with good programming three to four times a week, and you’ll achieve great results,” advises Batt.
