Fabregas, Aguero and Reus talk shop on other teams, what they expect to happen and their thoughts on both past and upcoming tournaments. Player interviews themselves.
PUMA are at it again. A series of videos where players interview themselves has come out. The series is aimed at getting the public more amped for the World Cup that is due to kick off in less than three weeks in sunny Brazil. It also gives their new boots, evoSPEED and evoPOWER Tricks, some exposure. Fabregas, Aguero and Reus talk shop on other teams, what they expect to happen and their thoughts on the past World Cups and the upcoming tournament in Brazil.
2 Cesc Fabregas
Fabregas is not getting bored of winning big tournaments and finds solace in how his national team has made a name for itself since Euro 2008. They have become more competitive on the world stage where no one believed in them before. He reminisces on the past World Cup where Spain lost their opening group stage match to Switzerland yet rallied to take home the title. He thinks the Germans are very competitive, Italians are dangerous even at their lowest times England bring the unexpected, France is a young tough team, Argentina are favorites, Brazil are playing at home with a great shot at victory, Netherlands are they testing rivals whilst Chile are the underdogs. If Spain wasn’t involved in the World Cup Cesc thinks which club team member he would support like Neyamr or Messi but finds that hard to answer. He wouldn’t want to see his national team not be in it anyways. He is not scared. He is confident in both himself and his team and predicts that they will take home the cup once more. 3 Sergio Aguero
Kun explains how hard World Cups can be and hope his national team, Argentina, will win it. There are no easy games in the World Cup and no team can be written off. Every game is there to be won. Scoring goals in such tournaments to him is about staying calm and have a belief in yourself that the goals will come. He has been there before where he didn’t score in the group stage and quarters during the Beijing Olympics but the mangers had faith and kept him the starting 11 and he eventually scored twice in the semis against big opponents Brazil. He knows Messi to be the most skillful player in the squad but jokes about how Messi dreams to be like him. He looks back at how he won the Youth World Cup twice in 2005 and 2007 as well as the Golden Boot and Ball awards in 2007. He is confident that he has a chance to win it this time round. Anything can happen in football. He remembers his first World Cup memory and only looks to play his own game and not try to use other players skills and tricks. Videos on Youtube . 4 Marco Reus
Reus is excited and really motivated about the World Cup as this will be his first appearance in such a tournament. He believed he would one day and now he is. He is eager to play big part and start as many games as he possibly can. He thinks the German team needs a bit more determination to finally surpass the semi finals as they constantly reach it but never go through. The Germans have been drawn into a very tough group, group of death, with Portugal, USA and Ghana. It does not derail him from the goal of winning, as he knows there are many good teams in this. With optimism and being well prepared anything is possible for them. His last big tournament was at the Euros and he says it helped him as a young player and was a big learning curve. He thinks the Portuguese are very strong and have talisman Ronaldo who can decide games on his own. That USA has a strong manager in Jürgen Klinsmann who brings a lot of experience to the table and Ghana who are also a very difficult team. The Germans believe in themselves and will try and win every game. Watch the interviews here
