Here are 20 reasons why you should be watching the FIFA World Cup in Brazil
1 Thierry Henry on BBC
Watching Thierry Henry on BBC discussing, analyzing and sharing his take on the games especially after the last World Cup drama when he captained the French team that went on strike.
2 Luis Suarez
Good guy or bad guy – love him or hate him - even after the nonsense he pulled at the last World Cup denying Ghana progress to the semi finals with a handball goal, his controversy rate as much as he has been a good boy of late makes him the one to watch.
3 Team Kits
4 Jorge Sampaoli
Chilean coach Jorge Sampaoli is far livelier on the sidelines than Jose Mourinho will be. He regularly gets sent to the stands, treats the technical area like he walks on hot coals and even once in the beginning of his career got upset and marched out the stadium, climbed a tree and watched the game from the branches.
5 Brazil's Attack
Brazils deadly striking trio in the form of Neymar, Fred and Hulk. Will they be unstoppable especially in their own backyards?
6 New Fan Toys
The vuvuzela has lost its popularity, well its banned, and what is likely to be a favorite this year are the Belgium made diabolica, a very compacted trumpet that fits into your pocket, and the caxirola, a grenade shaped plastic rattle that was created by Brazilian pop star Carlinhos Brown.
7 Not so good World Cup theme songs
This years ‘We Are One (Ole Ola)’ by Pitbull and J Lo sounds like three bad songs mixed into one but you will hear it over and over. It will become trapped in your head and by the time the tournament is over you will actually start to like it or maybe not. The latter seems more appropriate. We want back Shakira!
8 The Selfie World Cup
9 Knitted Football Boots
The innovation of football boots has been outstanding and just keeps surprising everyone over the years. Adidas have just launched in time the worlds first knitted, like as in a scarf kind of knit, boots for the World Cup that will be worn by the likes of Suarez and Messi.
10 Van Gaal
He wont be wearing red but all Manchester United fans are keeping an eye on their new club manager that will start his reign with them next season.
11 Christiano Ronaldo and his Abs
Women are waiting for that first shirt ripping off goal scoring celebration. Oh and of course to see his skill and talent on the world stage.
12 Andrea Pirlo
The veteran will play his last World Cup for Italy. It has been a good run for the midfielding general.
13 Group of Death
Group G is considered a mini tournament on its own with the likes of Portugal, Germany, USA and Ghana all fighting to progress through them. It will make for interesting watching.
14 Messi Versus Ronaldo
As usual the biggest battle starts here. Enough said!
They have never been noticed as a powerhouse but this new talented flourish of youth in the national squad proves top be a top contender this World Cup sporting the likes of Eden Hazard and Thibaut Cortois.
16 The Parties
Brazil is one of the world’s greatest party destinations in the world. That mixed in with the world’s greatest sport is going to equal mind blowing jols if you are there but if you aren't fan parks will be buzzing with excitement all over world where the party continues well after the game has ended.
17 Female Fans
Sunny beaches filled with super hot bikini clad footballing fans from around the world. Don't forget to try spot the WAGs amongst the crowd as they cheer on their man.
18 Energised Emotion
This sport is one of the most enticing of them all as both players, teams, fans and countries win and lose together. Everyone feels the thrill of a goal scored or the pain of one being conceded. Energy is transferred to everyone by everyone so even if you are not a fan just being around some will rub of on you in a very good way.
19 Big Babies
Seeing grown men cry is both sad and funny. Being eliminated can bring any grown man to tears. They collapse on the field, covering their face and sulk. This is the only time to show such vulnerability on a world stage. This is the only place it is acceptable for men to cry.
20 All Eyes On The Ball
The entire world will be watching, so whats your excuse?
