TRAIL SHOES

Puma Trailfox
Look at it! For the salt-of-the-earth and sometimes conservative trail running community, these are some sick kicks. But apart from looking bad, theres some tech in these shoes to back it up.
It's built low to the ground with a flexible plastic plate in the sole to protect the foot from sharp rocks and roots. The midsoles got Puma's idCell in the heel for cushioning, it has ArchTec torsion support, the upper is water-resistant with Drilex lining and is designed without a tongue as a one-piece system, making it fit like a sock.
Its pitched at the performance runner rather than an all-day expedition shoe so its perfect for an early evening escape after work.
Many trail shoes are not really suitable for tar running, being quite stiff and lacking in cushioning. Not so with this one. It feels as close to a road shoe as weve ever felt. It grips like an octopus, on all surfaces, especially loose shale. Its light and very responsive, but can take a beating. Light and durable are normally mutually exclusive, so this combination is usually hard to achieve.
Our testers have been ragged at the start of club trailruns. The taunts soon end, or rather they fade away into the background as the trail becomes steeper and more technical.
