Maybe the Web won’t warp you after all? Watching pornography doesn’t change the kind of sex you like, say scientists at the University of Montreal.

When lead researcher Professor Simon Lajeunesse interviewed varsity-age heterosexual men about their porn habits and sexual interests, he found that men seek out porn that portrays what they’re already interested in.

“Seeing a new type of sexual act won’t change a man’s sexual preferences, unless he’s already curious about that act,” Lajeunesse says.

One cautionary conclusion from the study: something kinky that arouses you online won’t necessarily be enjoyable in real life, he says.

By the way, Lajeunesse began his research wanting to interview men who’d never viewed pornography – but he had trouble finding any.
