If you can’t pick up on her subtle cues, you’ll never score her number. Consider this your cheat sheet.
YES Did you say something that made me playfully slap your arm? Or did I brush your arm to get your attention, while I lean in to tell you something arbitrary? I didn’t have to do that… but I did.
NO If this is combined with other signs of flirtation, that’s one thing. But just because I’m a good conversationalist or am using you as a party buffer while I scan the room for options, don’t assume my next question will be “your place or mine?”
YES Let’s say we’re strangers in a bar. It’s loud, music’s playing or there’s a game on TV, my friend’s talking my ear off and you’re still holding my attention – that’s your in. (When we finally speak and I hold your gaze, then slide my eyes away, it’s likely I am finding the interaction intense – in a good way – and am trying to keep it together. Can’t keep my focus? Game over.)
YES Some women do it self-consciously in an effort to play up their femininity. Others do it subconsciously because they’re excited or nervous. In either case, it’s a promising sign.
