Everything you need to know to buy her the perfect lingerie
Every brand will have a slightly different fit and cut, which can create confusion for you. Write down the sizes of three bras you see her wear a lot and go with the middle size. This will give you a good idea of what her average size is, says Mari Groenewald, Fashion Editor at Women’s Health.
The most popular bra style among women: full coverage. Step out of that comfort zone: for an A or B cup, try a demi style. For C or larger, choose a more supportive three-quarter cup. One rule: resist padded push-up bras. The point is to feel sexy, not to fit a stereotype. Peek in her drawer to see what she likes.
Clueless about colour? Black is best, says Groenewald. “White is cool, but go for a simple style otherwise it’ll look bridal.” Venture into red, leopard or neon only if you see her in similar styles. If you’re going lacy, spring for high-quality semi-sheer French lingerie, like Aubade (available at Zando)
