A small triangular device is making waves, literally. The Thync System is said to alter your mood, depending on what strip you attach to your device. It has two settings: Thync Energy and Thync Calm.
Thync Energy comes with three settings: a 5 minute boost of energy, a 10 minute recharge, and 20 minutes for a full body awakening, similar to the kind you get from a full night’s sleep.
Thync Calm also comes with three settings: 5 minute setting to take the edge of, 10 minutes of unwinding and a 20 minute pre-sleep setting.
During a demo, Thync co-founder and CEO Isy Goldwasser explained the process, “[Thync] uses tiny pulses of electricity to stimulate the skin at your temple, which then activates the instinctual fight-or-flight response in your brain to indirectly affect emotional response.”
Thync System is comprised of the Thync Module, Thync Strips (Energy & Calm Vibes) and the Thync App. The model and app are connected via Bluetooth.
All a user will have to do is attach one of the vibe strips to the module, press the power button on the module and place the module above the right eyebrow. Then open the app and follow the prompts. And if you do get confused, an instructional video is available on their website (www.thync.com).
Gizmag attended the CES 2015 and put this new gadget to the test for a second time. They believe Thync Vibes has the potential to make it big and help many customers.
Unfortunately it is only compatible with iOS 8 devices: iPhone 4S, 5, 5S, 5C, 6, 6 Plus; iPod Touch 5; iPad Air, 2, 4. If you are brave enough to try it, it’ll only set you back $299 (±R 3710.49).
