Standups, boogers, kneelo’s, longboarders, SUPers, bodysurfers, groms, ballies, kooks, pros, blow-ins, locals – pull in!

Screening the world’s top surf and board culture films at five locations in Cape Town, The Wavescape film festival runs from 8 – 17 December 2012.

Opening with an art exhibition 28 Nov to 5 Dec, auction, screening on Clifton Beach then a few nights at the Brass Bell in Kalk Bay before moving on to The Labia in the city centre.

The art exhibition at Superette in the Woodstock Exchange runs from Wed 28 Nov to Wed 5 December, the date of the Art Board Auction.

The Slide Night takes place at Superette on December 13, featuring 10 speakers who speak about the ocean in her many ebbs and flows and guises.

Surfboard Art Project Exhibition and Auction

10 of SA’s top artists create 10 surfboards for a special art exhibition and auction for ocean related charities. Artists below. These go on display at Superette for a week before being auctioned on Wednesday 5 December. Proceeds go to the NSRI, Shark Spotters and Isiqalo.

Wavescape Slide Night

Slide-Night is an evening of 10 minute slide presentations by 10 presenters who are thought leaders, artists, craftsmen, athletes, activists, scientists and personalities intimately connected to the ocean. It will be an informal, fun gathering where creative people get together to share ideas, works and adventures. There will be beer breaks for networking and a DJ after the presentations.
