oil supplements containing 1.3g EPA and 0.3g DHA daily for six weeks had greater immune activity after cycling than placebo poppers did. The fatty acids in fish may fight inflammation and activate germ-fighting natural killer cells. This is key after exercise, when you may be more susceptible to infection, says study author Dr Stuart Gray.
