Billabong has converted 50 million bottles into recycled boardshorts, which means that while they’ll still end up in the ocean, they won’t go killing off sea-life or making a mess of the beach.

The international surf brand’s environmental push aims to reduce PET waste (Bottles made of Polyethylene terephthalate) and are giving them a new life by turning water bottles into boardies.

One Billabong recycler board shorts saves approximately 25 PET bottles from floating about the ocean, with key tech features that include:

• Ergonically enhanced fit
• H2 Repel:
• Feather weight
• Stitch less seam fusion
• Self-packable pocket

Recycler boardies retail for R699.95 are available at Billabong stores nationwide.
